CDP and Pasig ACS boost hope of the people amidst ECQ
Updated: Jan 24, 2022
The Center for Disaster Preparedness (CDP), in partnership with the Pasig Adventist Community Service (ACS), conducted a series of relief operations targeting selected recipients of various barangays in Pasig and one organization in Cainta, Rizal starting from March 24, 2020 up to present.
With the ongoing fight with COVID-19, the implementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine has caused ill effects on minimum wage earners and those employees with the “no work, no pay” arrangement as the food security issue arises. Addressing this, LGU-led relief operations were undertaken in different localities.
Being a local civil society organization, the Pasig Adventist Community Service is able to clearly identify the families who are in dire need. To augment the aid from the barangay, CDP and Pasig ACS were able to provide relief packs to the selected families of Barangays Manggahan, Maybunga, and Santolan in Pasig. Two waves of distribution were done. For the first wave, relief packs consisted of rice and mongo beans while rice and bihon were given for the second one.
Aside from that, the first responders of Barangays Kapitolyo, Maybunga, and Oranbo, also in Pasig, were given bananas and Vitamin C supplements to boost their immune system as they continue to render their hearts and services in this fight with the pandemic.
Furthermore, relief packs containing rice and bihon were also handed to workers of the Tahanang Walang Hagdanan in Cainta, an organization for Persons with Disability.
Indeed, nothing beats the joy of blessing other people. Help those who are in need. Together, we will bounce forward!
