WHAT WE DO
Our Organization
The Center for Disaster Preparedness (CDP) is a regional resource center based in the Philippines that endeavors to promote Community-Based Climate and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CB CDRRM), facilitate interactive learning and discourse on climate and disaster risk reduction, and advocate for policies and programs that protect the environment and mitigate climate and disaster risk. Its various programs and services in training, DRR project implementation, emergency response (including psychosocial support) and rehabilitation assistance, interactive fora, research and knowledge exchange, networking and advocacy, through developmental and participatory principles and methodologies. With handholding and mentoring approach, it works with government and non-government organizations, people’s organizations, communities, and international agencies in various countries to enhance their capacities in disaster prevention and mitigation, preparedness, emergency response, and recovery.

BATANG HANDA, BATANG LIGTAS
Building Community Resilience and Preparedness for Effective Disaster Prevention and Response: All of Society Twin Approach
This undertaking aims to raise the commitment of duty-bearers and rights-holders toward upholding and sustaining the gains of disability-inclusive disaster risk reduction and management in the Municipalities of Balangiga and Lawaan in Eastern Samar and it's in partnership with Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) .
Disaster Risk Reduction through Education and Managing Barangay Integrated Goals Toward Disaster Resilient Communities and Schools in Paracale
In partnership with the UNICEF, the Center for Disaster Preparedness (CDP) gives focus on strengthening inclusive local structures and mechanisms in disaster risk reduction, as well as the promotion of multi-sectoral and holistic approach to risk reduction, through integration of health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), child protection and education in DRR programming in two barangays in Paracale, Camarines Norte.
Strengthening Resilience to Disasters among Vulnerable Urban Poor Communities in Metro Manila
This project seeks to advance children and youth’s rights and participation in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and climate change adaptation (CCA) agenda. In partnership with Plan International-Philippines, the three-year project targeted three major cities in the National Capital Region (NCR) and these were Quezon, San Juan, and Valenzuela. In each city, select four at-risk communities were able to actively take part in the project activities.

ENHANCING CBM PARTNERS' CAPACITY ON DISABILITY INCLUSIVE DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT
Five CBM Partners from Quezon City, Bicol in Luzon, Bohol in the Visayas and Bislig, Surigao del Sur Mindanao
This partnership engagement between CBM and CDP contributes to enhancing the capacities of CBM partners in the Philippines and contributes to widening the constituency of persons with disabilities towards becoming a force to contend with, in communities and societies.

UPSCALING HUMANITARIAN ACTION
Utilizing Good Practice Model and 'Whole of Society Approach' in Rights-Based Humanitarian Action
This project is implemented by a consortium on humanitarian action and protection formed by two civil society organizations, the Center for Disaster Preparedness and Balay Rehabilitation Center; a people's organization, Buklod Tao Inc.; and the Provincial DRRMO of Camarines Norte.
