Teams
The Center for Disaster Preparedness, through the years, has developed training modules in CBDRRM in partnership with government agencies and NGOs, such as the Office of Civil Defense for the Basic Instructor's Guide (BIG Module), and Handicap International for the Lahat Handa Training Manual.
Advocacy, Training, & Influencing (ATI)
The Advocacy, Training, and Influencing team focuses on implementing practical actions that equip local actors with the tools, knowledge, and skills to lead and sustain their own development initiatives. Through a combination of targeted training, advocacy campaigns, and strategic influencing, the team enhances the capacity of partners to respond to challenges effectively, build resilience, and create lasting change in their communities. The team’s work bridges the gap between local needs and global policies, ensuring that the voices of communities are central to all actions, fostering long-term sustainability and self-reliance.
Community-Led Actions, Projects, & Partnerships (CLAPP)
CLAPP brings CDP even closer to its heart: empowering communities to take control of their future. By strengthening leadership and supporting community-led actions, CLAPP helps local people shape their own development and prepare for disasters. Integrating DRR and CCA into everyday life, along with nature-based solutions, ensures that progress is not only sustainable but meaningful for each community. Through local philanthropy, strong partnerships, and advocating for policies that put people first, CLAPP makes sure resources reach those who need them most. This realignment reaffirms CDP’s commitment to putting communities at the center of sustainable, resilient development.
Anticipatory & Humanitarian Action (AHA!)
The AHA! Team is dedicated to helping communities not only react to disasters but anticipate them. By integrating anticipatory action—which focuses on acting before a disaster strikes—the team empowers communities to reduce risks and minimize impacts ahead of time. With a strong network of volunteers and support for Survivor and Community-Led Response (SCLR), the AHA Team ensures that local people are at the forefront of disaster preparedness and response, using their own knowledge and strengths to protect their communities. Through capacity-building and supporting community-driven initiatives, the team helps transform lessons learned into proactive, life-saving actions. This approach deeply aligns with CDP’s commitment to fostering resilience and empowering communities to lead their own future.
Voice and Insights Lab (The Lab)
At the core of CDP’s work, the Voice and Insight Lab plays a vital role in shaping how we understand, share, and act on knowledge. Through its thoughtful collection of insights and careful analysis of our work, the Lab ensures that the right information reaches the right hands—whether it's empowering our team, guiding community partners, or informing broader strategies. It crafts narratives that amplify our mission, sharing stories of resilience that inspire action and solidarity. By continually assessing the effectiveness of our efforts, the Lab refines our approach, ensuring we remain impactful and efficient. In doing so, the Lab fuels CDP’s vision of resilient, empowered communities, ready to face any challenge with confidence.

Resourcing, Consulting, and Fundraising (RCF)
The RCF functions are foundational to CDP’s ability to sustain and scale its work. These elements ensure that the organization can secure the right resources, share its expertise, and build relationships that will allow CDP to grow and continue creating meaningful impact. Resourcing guarantees that the necessary assets are in place to meet CDP’s objectives, while consulting offers value to partners by sharing CDP’s strengths in management and capacity-building. Meanwhile, fundraising is about building lasting partnerships that provide financial support while aligning with CDP’s values and mission. Together, these efforts ensure the organization’s long-term sustainability and success.
Standards & Stewardship (S&S)
The S&S team is the quiet but steady force that keeps CDP running smoothly behind the scenes. Whether it's making sure every cent is accounted for, coordinating the logistics of a project, or handling the day-to-day admin tasks, S&S ensures that everything is in place to support our mission. Their work goes beyond numbers and schedules—they make sure that every action reflects our values of integrity, transparency, and care for the communities we serve. From organizing resources to overseeing budgets, the S&S team ensures that CDP can continue to empower communities, confident that the foundation they’ve built is solid, ethical, and efficient.
Abot-Kamay Community Solidarity Fund (ACSF)
ACSF is CDP’s dedicated grantmaking facility designed to support the localization of disaster risk reduction, climate adaptation, and development efforts. It provides flexible funding to local organizations and grassroots initiatives, ensuring that communities have the resources to lead their own development and resilience projects. ACSF embodies the principle of localization by placing decision-making power in the hands of local actors, promoting community ownership and long-term sustainability.
