The InterChurch Organization for development Cooperation ( ICCO) and Kerk in Actie based in The Netherlands organized an exchange visit in the Philippines to enhance the capacities of their partner organizations in Indonesia, Central America and Afghanistan in community based disaster risk management.

Participants from Indonesia represented 6 organizations: Ms. Electronita Duan, Manager from PPLPP-SANRO, Mr. Victor Nahusona, Program Supervisor from YTBI Jakarta, Mr. Demianus Ice, Vice Secretary from GMHI, Mr. Ahmad Badawi, Director from LSKAR, Ms. Haryati Panca Putri, Service Director from LPH YAPHI, Mr. Husaini, Field Manager and Mr. Suryono, Program Development both from SHEEP Indonesia.

Three (3) participants from Central America were represented by Mr. Rene Ramos, Program Coordinator from El Salvador, Mr. Richard Terrazas, National Coordinator for RMP, ASONO-Honduras and Ms. Violeta Hernandez, Coordinator, Accion Medica Cristiana-Nicaragua.

While the three participants from Afghanistan were represented by Mr.Ghulam Farooq Usmani, Program Officer, Sanayee Development Organization, Mr. Mohammad Ali Vosugi, Program Officer and Mr. Abdullah Zuhair, Project Manager both from Coop Center for Afghanistan.

The Center for Disaster Preparedness Foundation, Inc facilitated the CBDRM Training cum study visit. The first part of the program was a four-day training on CBDRM wherein participants were introduced to the concept of CBDRM and how this practice evolved in the Philippine context. An actual Risk Assessment was done in Buklod Tao in Banaba, San Mateo, Rizal.
